| It becomes ouite extrodinary to imagine from this size coparison, Jill's 1/12th scale on the left and Kate's 1/24th on the right, that Kate is able to replicate the same posable body, so admired in her mothers dolls. | |||||||||||||

Jill's Exhibition Mrs Gosoftly Presents: The Storytelling Art of Jill Bennett in both 3 Dimensional Illustration and Book Illustration Stories have always been at the centre of Jill Bennett’s life, either drawing, painting, or making them up. As a child she wanted to be a children’s book illustrator and worked as one for many years. Among the authors she has illustrated are Charles Dickens, Roald Dahl, Dorothy Edwards, Dick King-Smith and Helen Cresswell. Jill’s other passion is the theatre. She studied theatre design at Wimbledon School of Art and the Slade School of Fine Art. Her doll making combines both storytelling and drama, to create a world in miniature. A life, in fact, of make believe! Jill also offered special sessions for school groups and visitors during her exhibition. Jill would like to express her thanks to the all the staff at Somerset Rural Life Museum, who were such a help in setting up the event.
